Beard Collectors - What's all the fuzz about?

The last half decade has seen an increase of men growing beards, or as I like to call them, "Collectors".
I like the idea that men collect their beards, rather than just grow them. It's just one of my unusual idioms.
A beard can range from the magnificent wizard like down to the designer stubble effect.
As a barber, I really do see all sorts. I see magnificent wizards and I see people that maybe need to wait a little longer before they attempt to start their collection. I love nothing more than having a client in the chair looking scruffy and unkempt, and transforming them into smart well groomed pillars of "Beardom".
But why grow a beard? I suppose the short answer is that everyone has their own motivation. I, for example have beard because I am not permitted by the love of my life, to remove it. That, and it makes me look young and fat(ter).
Some men collect their beards for a particular style, or because they're hiding from the fuzz! (no pun intended). Ultimately it doesn't matter.
For most, the problem is really learning how to manage it. One does not simply grow a beard.

I would always advise washing and conditioning it along with your hair. You can spend out on beard shampoos and conditioners if you like, but I don't really think there's any need. Any half decent shampoo & conditioner will work. Before its dry though, do brush it through. take out all of the knots and tangles, followed by a beard comb. I prefer a wooden comb, as it doesn't generate much static, but really it any comb will do. Maybe a few drops of a good quality Beard Oil will help it along too.
That should do you day to day.
If you're feeling like you want to treat your beard to a pamper, I recommend following the above steps, and in addition, apply some hair foam. (Not mousse), I use the Squire brand foam. I have found it to be non-sticky and it has a relatively good hold to see you through the day. Dry it straight with a hairdryer, and then, using a FEW drops of beard oil, (again, Squire is my go to), apply vigorously. Comb gently in to place to reach the desire affect and pat any loose ends down with the palm of your hands.
If you ever want guidance, advice on your beard collection, I'm always here!
